RevoDx Malaria qPCR Kit
Malaria is a mosquito-borne infectious disease caused by single-celled parasites of the Plasmodium group, primarily transmitted to humans through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. Common symptoms include fever, fatigue, vomiting, and headaches, with severe cases potentially leading to jaundice, seizures, coma, or even death. Symptoms typically emerge 10 to 15 days after infection, and if left untreated, malaria can recur months later. Interestingly, individuals who have recently recovered may experience milder symptoms upon reinfection, although this partial resistance diminishes over time without continued exposure to the disease.
Intended Use
RevoDx Malaria qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acids of Plasmodium species including Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium malariae, Plasmodium vivax, Plasmodium ovale and Plasmodium knowlesi.
