Crimean–Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) is a viral disease caused by the CCHF virus, which belongs to the order Bunyavirales. Symptoms typically appear within two weeks of exposure and include fever, muscle pain, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding into the skin, with severe cases potentially leading to liver failure. The disease is primarily transmitted through tick bites or contact with the blood or bodily fluids of infected individuals or animals, posing a high risk to farmers and slaughterhouse workers. Person-to-person transmission can also occur via body fluids. Diagnosis involves detecting antibodies, viral RNA, or antigens, and survivors generally recover within two weeks.
