RevoDx Monkeypox Virus qPCR Kit
There is currently a multi-country outbreak of monkeypox in several regions of the world, the full extent and impact of which remains unclear. Monkeypox starts with fever, then general body aches, malaise, and muscle aches. with the first symptoms are similar to influenza. Those usually precede the development of a rash. It starts as macules, which are flat lesions. Then it forms a firm nodule. From there, it becomes a blister, then a pustule (a blister containing pus) and then it scabs over. Monkeypox is transmitted through close person-to-person contact with lesions, body fluids and respiratory droplets, and through contaminated materials.
Monkeypox virus is an enveloped double-stranded DNA virus that belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus of the Poxviridae family. Monkeypox is a linear DNA genome of ≈197 kb and contains ≈190 nonoverlapping ORFs >180 nt long. Like all orthopoxviruses, the central coding region sequence (CRS) at Monkeypox virus nucleotide positions ≈56000–120000 is highly conserved and flanked by variable ends that contain inverted terminal repeats (ITRs).
Intended Use
RevoDx Monkeypox Virus qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Monkeypox Virus DNA.
Instruments
The RevoDx Monkeypox Virus qPCR Kit is to be used with BIO-RAD CFX96 and Tianlong Gentier 96 Real-Time PCR Detection Systems. But the RevoDx Monkeypox Virus qPCR Kit may also be compatible with most real-time PCR detection systems with the channels FAM and HEX
