RevoDx HCV qPCR Kit
Nearly 170 million people worldwide are infected with Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). Approximately 85% of these individuals develop chronic infections, increasing their risk for severe complications such as liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). HCV is classified into six genotypes, distinguished by variations in their genomic sequences. Genotyping plays a crucial role in predicting a patient’s likelihood of achieving a sustained response to antiviral therapy, as each genotype responds differently to treatment.
The HCV genome is identified as a unique entity using a recombinant complementary RNA (cDNA) approach. Belonging to the Flaviviridae family, HCV is an enveloped, single-stranded RNA virus, measuring between 30 and 60 nm in diameter. With the implementation of blood screening for hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), HCV has emerged as the leading cause of post-transfusion hepatitis.

- Validated for use with fresh or frozen human serum or plasma collected in EDTA anticoagulant.
- Quantification Standards ranging from 1 x 104 IU/mL to 1 x 107 IU/mL
- Exogenous internal control
- The Limit of Detection (LoD) value is 14 IU/mL
- Linear range is between 35 IU/mL and 1 x 109 IU/mL
- Diagnostic specificity is ≥ 99 %
- Can detect and quantify all HCV genotypes
