Fungal Pathogens Detection Kits
RevoDx Candida albicans qPCR Kit
Candida albicans is the type of yeast that lives in your body. It can overgrow and turn into an infection if the balance of healthy bacteria and yeast is disrupted. Candidiasis is the term used to describe an infection caused by an overgrowth of yeast (Candida). Common infections include vaginal yeast infection, diaper rash and thrush. The most common infection caused by Candida albicans is a vaginal yeast infection, which occurs in about 75% of people with a vagina at least once in their lifetime. Symptoms of infection include: skin redness (rash), itching, blisters, lumpy white patches, pain, soreness or discomfort, burning sensation, vaginal discharge. Normally, yeast infections are not contagious, but Candida albicans infections have the potential to spread to different hosts if you have a weakened immune system or if you are taking certain medications. It is unlikely that you will spread a Candida albicans infection if you are healthy.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida albicans qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida albicans DNA.
RevoDx Candidiasis qPCR Kit
Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by a yeast called Candida [1]. Candida normally lives on skin and inside the body, such as the mouth, throat, gut, and vagina, without causing problems. However, certain factors such as a weakened immune system, the use of antibiotics, or changes in the hormonal balance of the body can cause an overgrowth of Candida, leading to an infection [1].
Candidiasis can affect different parts of the body, resulting in different symptoms. For example, when Candida overgrows in the mouth and throat, it can cause thrush, which is characterized by white patches on the tongue and inside the mouth, soreness, and difficulty swallowing [1]. In the genital area, Candida can cause a vaginal yeast infection, which is characterized by itching, burning, soreness, and discharge [1]. Candidiasis can also affect the skin, causing red, itchy rashes that can be painful or blistered [1].
Treatment for candidiasis depends on the affected area and the severity of the infection. Antifungal medications, such as creams, tablets, or suppositories, are commonly used to treat candidiasis [2]. It is also important to address any underlying factors that may be contributing to the overgrowth of Candida, such as a weakened immune system or hormonal imbalances [2]. In most cases, candidiasis can be successfully treated with medication and lifestyle changes.
Intended Use

RevoDx Cryptococcus neoformans/gattii qPCR Kit
Cryptococcosis is an infectious disease of worldwide distribution, caused by encapsulated yeasts belonging to the phylum Basidiomycota. Cryptococcus neoformans and Cryptococcus gattii are the two etiologic agents of cryptococcosis. Cryptococcosis usually affects the lungs or the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord), but it can also affect other parts of the body. Brain infections caused by C. gattii and other types of Cryptococcus are called cryptococcal meningitis. C. gattii lives in soil and on certain trees, primarily in tropical and subtropical regions across the world. People can become infected with C. gattii after breathing in the microscopic fungus from the environment. Within a few days to a few weeks of infection, the following symptoms may develop: fever, headache, stiff neck, nausea and vomiting, sensitivity to light, altered mental states, such as confusion, untreated, more serious symptoms may develop, including: brain damage, coma, hearing loss, hydrocephalus (water on the brain).
Intended Use
RevoDx Cryptococcus neoformans/gattii qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Cryptococcus neoformans/gattii DNA.
RevoDx Candida auris qPCR Kit
Candida auris (C. auris) is a fungus (also called a yeast) that can cause large outbreaks among medically vulnerable patients in healthcare facilities. Candida auris was first identified in 2009, is often resistant to many of the medications used to treat fungal infections, and spreads easily in healthcare facilities. Candida auris is part of a large family of yeast that can colonize and infect the body. You may have heard of Candida albicans, the most common cause of vaginal yeast infections and oral thrush.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida auris qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida auris DNA.
RevoDx Candida glabrata qPCR Kit
Candida glabrata is a yeast of increasing medical relevance, particularly in critically ill patients. It is the second most isolated Candida species associated with invasive candidiasis (IC) behind C. albicans. The attributed higher incidence is primarily due to an increase in the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) population, cancer, and diabetic patients. The elderly population and the frequent use of indwelling medical devices are also predisposing factors
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida glabrata qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida glabrata DNA.
RevoDx Candida krusei qPCR Kit
Candida krusei is a yeast species that does not produce spores that is usually found growing as a single cell or as pseudohyphae. In the single cell form, the cells of C. krusei are round or ovoid and can be easily separated while in the pseudohyphae form the cells are more elongated and attached to neighboring cells. C. krusei is considered a relatively uncommon, emerging opportunistic human pathogen that infects mainly immunocompromised patients, especially those that have some form of leukemia or other deficiencies in white blood cells. C. krusei is gaining recognition in the world today since it is a multidrug resistant pathogen due to its ability to rapidly adapt to antifungal treatments and its complex susceptibility profile. C. krusei is most often found in the human microbiome in immunocompromised patients.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida krusei qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida krusei DNA.
RevoDx Candida krusei qPCR Kit
Candida lusitaniae is a fungal species that can cause infections in humans, particularly in individuals with weakened immune systems. The causes of these infections include factors such as immunosuppression, invasive medical procedures, and prolonged antibiotic use. Common symptoms include fever, chills, and localized infections in various body sites. Treatment options involve antifungal medications, but the emergence of drug resistance poses challenges.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida lusitaniae qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida lusitaniae DNA.
RevoDx Candida parapsilosis qPCR Kit
Candidiasis is an infection acquired from endogenous organisms colonizing the gastrointestinal tract; it usually manifests as fungemia or visceral candidiasis. Candida parapsilosis is a common cause of invasive candidiasis, especially in newborn infants, and infections have been increasing over the past two decades.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida parapsilosis qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida parapsilosis DNA.
RevoDx Candida tropicalis qPCR Kit
Candida tropicalis ranks between third and fourth among Candida species most commonly isolated from clinical specimens. Candida tropicalis has also shown a worrying antifungal resistance profile in recent years.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida tropicalis qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida tropicalis DNA.
RevoDx Candida spp qPCR Kit
Candida spp. is the most common cause of fungal infections, leading to a range of life-threatening invasive to non-life-threatening mucocutaneous diseases. The ability of these yeasts has a profound effect on their capacity to cause human disease. Infection occurs in 60% of these cases, with Candida spp. Candida is transmitted by direct or indirect contact with contaminated people or objects. If a patient’s immune system is weakened after surgery or chemotherapy, for example as a result of a disease, Candida becomes a pathogen.
The Candida genome is very plastic, with variable karyotype. It contains 8 chromosome pairs, 7 of which have a constant size and one of which is polymorphic (R), with a size ranging from 3.2 to 4.0 Mb. The presence of tandemly arrayed genes for the ribosomal RNAs accounts for this size variation.
Intended Use
RevoDx Candida spp. qPCR Kit is a real-time PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of Candida spp. DNA.
